Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions

By booking any service or purchasing any product or programme with Lead the Way QLD, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Payment, Cancellations and Refunds

  • Full payment or an agreed payment plan is required to secure your booking.

  • All fees paid are strictly non-refundable.

  • Payment Plans: By accepting these terms and conditions, you agree to commit to the full payment arrangement. If you choose to withdraw or pull out of the programme at any time, you remain liable for the total cost of the programme, and all remaining payments must be made as scheduled.

  • Lead the Way QLD reserves the right to reschedule or cancel services if payment has not been received by the required time.

  • Change of mind does not entitle a client to a refund for any service, programme, or product purchased with Lead the Way QLD.

Cancellations

  • All fees paid are strictly non-refundable.

  • One-to-one sessions cancelled within 24 hours, or sessions not attended, are forfeited and cannot be rescheduled.

  • Homework and Programme Progress: It is the client's responsibility to complete all assigned homework and submit video evidence as advised by the trainer. Completion and submission of homework are mandatory prerequisites for moving on to the next session.

  • Session Forfeiture for Incomplete Homework: If a session is booked and the required homework has not been submitted by 24 hours prior to the session time, the session will be forfeited and cannot be rescheduled.

  • Client Responsibility: It is not the trainer’s responsibility to chase up or remind clients about homework submissions. Failure to manage your own progress according to the trainer's instructions will result in the forfeiture of sessions or the pausing of your programme without refund.

  • Sessions cancelled with more than 24 hours' notice may be rescheduled, subject to availability.

  • Prices and programme options provided following an initial consultation are valid for 1 month from the date issued.

  • Programme Completion Timeline: All sessions and programmes must be completed within 12 weeks of the original commencement date (the date of initial payment). Any sessions not completed within this 12-week period will be forfeited, and no refunds or extensions will be provided.

  • Extenuating Circumstances: Exceptions to the 12-week completion rule will only be considered in extenuating circumstances that have been pre-discussed and agreed upon with the trainer in writing.

Safety

  • Training sessions are designed to focus on dogs and handler safety. Children should not attend sessions wherever possible.

  • If a child must attend, they must be closely supervised at all times, remain out of the training area, and not interact with dogs unless explicitly instructed by the trainer.

  • Any accident or injury involving you, your dog, or any accompanying person must be reported immediately at the time it occurs.

  • Trainer instructions must be followed at all times.

  • Dogs must remain on lead unless expressly instructed otherwise by the trainer.

  • You are responsible for your dog at all times during sessions.

  • Failure to follow safety instructions may result in immediate termination of the session without refund.

Health and Vaccination

  • All dogs must be appropriately vaccinated and treated for internal and external parasites.

  • While all reasonable care is taken, Lead the Way QLD cannot guarantee a disease-free environment when dogs are training together or using shared equipment. Owners acknowledge and accept this risk.

  • If you choose not to routinely vaccinate your dog, this decision is made entirely at your own risk.

  • You must advise Lead the Way QLD prior to any session if your dog:

– Has been unwell

– Has been in contact with a dog carrying a contagious disease

– Is currently in season or showing signs of coming into season

  • Depending on the circumstances, sessions may need to be postponed or adjusted.

  • It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure their dog is fit and healthy to attend training.

  • If your dog has known allergies or food intolerances, you must advise prior to the session and provide suitable food where required.

  • It is important to note that reactivity and behavioural issues can sometimes be caused or exacerbated by underlying pain or medical conditions. By participating in our programme, you agree to have your dog examined by a registered veterinarian if the trainer identifies any signs or concerns that may indicate a physical or medical contribution to your dog's behaviour. Lead the Way QLD reserves the right to pause or adjust the programme until veterinary clearance has been provided.

Equipment

  • Lead the Way QLD accepts responsibility for equipment provided by Lead the Way QLD - provided it is not misused by the handler.

  • Lead the Way QLD does not accept responsibility for the failure, misuse, or injury caused by equipment not supplied by Lead the Way QLD.

  • All dogs will be trained using a trainer-recommended training tool, which may include (but is not limited to) head halters, slip leads, check chains, or e-collars, depending on the dog’s needs and the programme being undertaken.

  • Sufficient instruction, guidance, and education will be provided to ensure the handler understands the correct and humane use of any recommended training tool.

  • Dogs must attend sessions with appropriately fitted equipment - collar, slip collar/lead, head halter, etc.

Marketing and Privacy

  • Personal information collected during booking is kept confidential and will not be shared with third parties.

  • You may receive occasional emails or marketing communications. You may opt out at any time by notifying us.

  • Photographs and/or videos may be taken during training sessions for marketing and educational purposes, including social media and website use.

  • If you do not consent to this, you must advise prior to the session.

  • Media is captured only at the discretion of Lead the Way QLD.

  • Participation in dog training activities carries inherent risk.

  • By booking with Lead the Way QLD, you acknowledge and accept that risk for yourself, your dog, and any accompanying persons.

  • You agree to indemnify Lead the Way QLD against any injury, loss, or damage to persons or property arising from participation in training sessions.
